2012 Kia Rio

2012 Kia Rio. To add the word "Rio" You may think of the city, or perhaps to hear Duran Duran. But whether the "Kia Rio", the first thing that pops into your head? Probably not. For years, Rio is a car quite unmemorable. But for 2012, we think that Kia will be a lot more attention.

Redesigned for 2012, the Kia Rio will receive improvements in almost every area. Similar with other Kia models recently redesigned, the style is a priority - both exterior and interior of Rio has a bold look for the vehicle segment. Rio's new, bigger than before, which translates into more interior space and luggage.

Under the hood is the engine of new 1.6-liter four-cylinder with direct injection technology. With 138 horsepower, it will be one of the most powerful car in its class. This will be accompanied by a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, which helps Rio Kia get what was promised 30 mpg city and 40 mpg highway. A start-stop techniques similar to those found on hybrid vehicles would be an option.

A four-door Rio sedan and hatchback will be offered. As with the previous Rio, the price will be low, but this time Kia promises more upscale features and options including leather seats, heated front seats, keyless ignition / entry and UVO, voice-command system similar to the Ford Sync system. Quality of interior is a surprising improvement over the old car, and in fact, the cabin Rio seems like it belongs to a higher segment.

All told, the 2012 Kia Rio seems finally leading subcompact segment. Together with models like the Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit and Hyundai Accent, Rio is a car that should immediately come to mind. Back near Rio sales this summer for a full driving impressions and buying advice.
