2011 Chevrolet Equinox

2011 Chevrolet Equinox. For 2011, Chevrolet Equinox optional V6 now has the ability to E85. Improvements include hot cloth seats on the 2LT model and compass on the LS model. A USB port, leather wrapped steering wheel and Bluetooth connectivity is now standard on 1LT models, and an upgrade to the OnStar service standard and connections (which provide access to the OnStar navigation and information services) for a trial period of six months.
Introduction

Spacious and blessed with a sharp V6 is available, the previous generation Equinox has a charm, but it does not seem bright enough to be a rival. As a result, capable, but left unspoken Chevy carrier to linger in the plot buyers flocking to the more popular choices such as Honda and Toyota. But thanks to a complete redesign last year, last Equinox jumped into the top pick in the small crossover SUV segment.

2011 Chevrolet Equinox has the character and refinement? two features are missing from the previous generation model, and indeed small crossovers in general. With rear seats that slide back to a level appropriate for a prom-night limousine, Equinox has legroom easily on his strength. Ride quality is a plus, with Equinox give you a ride, stable well planted. In terms of equipment, Chevy is fully competitive, with many standard features and enhancements much like a hard drive-based navigation system.

Under the hood you'll find options-182-horsepower inline-4 or 264-hp V6. Both engines provide respectable acceleration, and four-cylinder is important for fuel economy on average (although we did not quite meet the high estimate EPA). Another thing that is selling luxurious Equinox looks nice, attractive cabin and expensive-looking interior materials quality and features that ultimately compete with other options in this segment.

The main area where the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox is the charge left. Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, both as a whole boasts more space that could be a factor if you frequently use your small crossover to bring a lot of stuff. Equinox also appears as a little dead to rise compared with sporty models like the Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-7. But in almost every other action that matters - the cabin design, fuel economy, comfort and safety - Chevy crossover is a front-runner.

Body style, trim level and options
2011 Chevrolet Equinox is a compact crossover SUV available in LS, 1LT 2LT and LTZ trim levels.
Standard equipment on the LS include 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, air conditioning, full power accessories, power seat height adjustment, sliding rear seat and adjustable, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, OnStar and six-speaker sound system with CD player, satellite radio and jack additional audio. 1LT adds rear privacy glass, roof rails, leather wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth and iPod / USB audio interface. When equipped with the optional V6 engine, 18-inch wheels added.

Equinox 2LT get the above features, plus fog lamps, remote ignition, heated front seats, automatic climate control, seat eight-way power driver's seat, an auto-dimming mirror, rearview camera (mounted on the rear) and eight-speaker Pioneer stereo. Rack-top LTZ adds automatic lights, a power tailgate, rear parking sensors, leather upholstery and driver memory function.

Many standard features found at the upper end may be added to a lower finish as an option. All but finished Equinox LS can be taken with a sunroof. The 2LT and LTZ can be equipped with rear entertainment system and navigation system with voice recognition and digital music storage. LTZ V6 can be equipped with the optional 19-inch wheels wrapped in chrome.

Powertrains and Performance
Every 2011 Chevrolet Equinox comes standard with four-cylinder engine 2.4-liter 182 hp and 172 pound-feet of torque. Optional on all but LS 3.0-liter V6 good for 264 hp and 222 Nm of torque. Both engines come standard with six-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive, all-wheel drive is optional. When equipped with four-cylinder engine, the Equinox makes sprint 0-60 mph in 9.3 seconds, which is about average for that segment.

Equinox with front-wheel drive four-cylinder to reach an EPA estimated 22 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined. All wheel-drive down the estimated 20/29/23. A front-wheel drive Equinox V6 gets 17/25/20 expected, with all-wheel-drive versions of the 1 mpg on the highway. Impressive as these figures, however, we see that the Equinox is more than most vehicles are not suitable for the numbers in the real world.

Safety
2011 Chevy Equinox comes standard with ABS disc brakes (with brake assist), traction and stability, front seat side airbags, curtain airbags and OnStar. A rearview camera and rear parking sensors are optional.

Equinox has not been evaluated by the new government, more severe test of 2011 accident, but rank 2010 (which is not comparable with the new method) is a five star for its performance in head-on collisions and side impacts for all passengers. In addition to impact and frontal offset crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Equinox get over the "good" rating.

Interior Design and Special Features
Chevy Equinox has a full interior style with a touch of premium. The two-tone available color schemes are striking and perfect complement of the dashboard is elegant, swooping dual-stack design. All in all, the Equinox's interior looks more luxurious than most others in this segment.

The switch to control climate and audio systems was significant, pleasant departure from the cookie-cutter units in many other GM models. The disadvantage is that the center console is constrained by the most button-like and can be difficult for shorter drivers to reach.

As a plus-sized exterior suggests, Equinox offers a spacious cabin. Set the rear sliding rear legroom and you will be the most generous in this segment can be found, behind the rear seat passenger comfort. There are plenty of storage options in the cabin, culminating in a large tank which is under the middle front row armrests. Payload, however, is not so impressive. There is a maximum 31.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats slide, with rear seats folded, this figure grew 63.7 cubic meters. Thus, the Equinox offers less cargo space than rivals like the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.

Driving impressions
Acceleration of the four-cylinder engine 2011 Chevrolet Equinox honorable? especially considering the high fuel consumption - and should satisfy most buyers. V6 is suitable for those seeking gutsier performance and offers a 264-horsepower that they are one of the most powerful option in this segment.

Road and wind noise is no problem at Equinox, which is a very quiet cabin on the highway. Ride quality is very impressive on the road traveling between countries, provide a button-down was an indication of a larger SUV. Handling that does not interfere with and control certain vague? although we suspect that these two shortcomings, there is no problem for the target demographic of the Equinox.
