2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. For those who tend to be lavish, full-size Mercedes-Benz S-Class coddles the driver with a huge convenience and technology that compensates for almost all ordinary human weakness exhibited at the wheel. S-Class, however, remains beyond the financial reach of most drivers.

Designed for three-headed, more luxurious quality and safety is achieved, W 201 sedan which was introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 1982. Known as the 190, this compact sedan as a direct precursor of the C-Class. Approximately 8.5 million as a commercial sales is proof of concept MBs for four generations. And things like that these sales will continue.

2012 C-Class is not an entirely new car, but a revised 204-series (introduced in 2007). What's new? For the U.S. market, we get a fresh front and rear styling, an efficient three-engine, new transmission, revised interior and driver assistance systems previously available only on more expensive models of MB, including the Lane Keeping Assist, Brake Assist, Adaptive High-Beam Assist , Parktronic Assist and Blind Spot. And yes, this means that there is no diesel engine for us. No manual gearbox, either, but it is not surprising.

All machines are under the new aluminum hood and behind the nose facelifted with a new lamp. Around the rear, new LED taillights complete the visual modernization.

detail drivetrain begins with the fact that our three new machines all run direct fuel injection. The 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 201 horsepower and 229 pound feet of torque, and is available on the C250 rear-wheel-drive. Those who want to get all-wheel drive 3.0 liter V6 makes 228 horsepower and 221 lb.ft of C300 4MATIC, while top-of-the-line rear-drive, 3.5-liter V6 making 302 hp and 273 Nm, an increase of 34 more horses from 2011, C350.

All machines run by the company seven-speed 7G-Tronic transmission. The combination of direct injection, additional cog in the gearbox and a small weight increases fuel economy up to 15 percent. Higher returns in other markets where the engine stop / start system is also standard. The function will be coming to the U.S. when the fuel pressure and the cost of additional complexity to justify the system. Mercedes EPA has not released the final figures, but gave the combination start (motor) of 24 mpg, 20 mpg and 21 mpg, respectively.

If the overall efficiency is also improved dynamic performance. Daimler said the 5.9 seconds 0-60 mph dash in 7.1 seconds and 3.5-liter powertrains are expected for the two others.

As luck fleet of the press should draw our journey along the winding roads of Tenerife (the largest in the Canary Islands) is the C350 rear-wheel-drive that comes with the Elegance package. Equivalents in the United States will be called the Luxury model. Significant differences separate this model sports: four-spoke steering wheel, wood ash or walnut brown or rich and wide headrest S-Class style with side panels (ideal for passengers break).

Although the C-Class Sport model (known as the Avantgarde edition of the European Union) has a sporty face with CLS-style grill, three-spoke steering wheel and AMG-style glossy black ash, looked like our C implementation of the most entry-level luxury buyers seek. There's something about looking good on a three-star proud of the surrounding chrome radiator. Ditto for the inside of rich wood and soft nappa leather appliques.
